WALL HANGING, Romanian Point Lace Kit - NO. 90CE

This beautiful wall hanging piece is made in Romanian Point Lace, a very old European lace technique and it is the first Wall Hanging in my Collection. It is a combination of crochet and needle lace. In this pattern, four(4) types of crochet braids are made first with a crochet hook; then they are basted down on the fabric pattern. After joining the braids where they touch in order to create a framework, decorative filling stitches are made with a tapestry needle. The kit includes: DMC Cebelia cotton thread size 10, ecru for crocheting the braids and for needle lace stitches; sewing colored thread and one sharp pointed needle for basting the braids on the fabric pattern; one tapestry needle, size 22 for working the decorative filling stitches; reusable fabric pattern and easy-to-follow, step-by-step illustrated instructions. A steel crochet hook 1.50-1.25mm(8-9steel U.S.A.) need to be used to make the crochet braids(not included in the kit). The size of the pattern with the threads around and the wood branch is 16" x 10"(40cm x 25cm). Only the pattern measures 11" x 9.5".
